The Forum submitted its intervention – “What’s the worst that could happen?”: The worst that could happen – to the CRTC on March 29, 2018. FRPC opposed the application’s request made by application 8663-A182-201800467 that the CRTC begin to order ISPs to block Canadians’ access to websites because
- A majority of Canadians believe there are risks of blocking sites that have done nothing wrong, and of government expanding censorship,
- The application failed to make its case
- Approval of this application would be contrary to Canadian law, and
- The application is a thinly veiled attempt to rewrite Canadian copyright law
