The Forum’s intervention opposing Asian Television Network’s application to disable on-line access to piracy sites, 8663-A182-201800467

The Forum  submitted its intervention – “What’s the worst that could happen?”: The worst that could happen – to the CRTC on March 29, 2018. FRPC opposed the application’s request made by application 8663-A182-201800467 that the CRTC begin to order ISPs to block Canadians’ access to websites because

1. A majority of Canadians believe there are risks of blocking sites that have done nothing wrong, and of government expanding censorship,
2. The application failed to make its case
3. Approval of this application would be contrary to Canadian law, and
4. The application is a thinly veiled attempt to rewrite Canadian copyright law
